November 7 is election day in Maine and across the country. In Maine, there are no candidates on the ballots for positions. There are, however, citizen referendums on the ballot.  Question 1 asks whether to authorize a third casino in Maine to be placed somewhere in York County. Supporters say the casino would create over 2,000 permanent jobs. Yesterday, Governor LePage forcefully opposed the question, stating it was: “another case of big-money, out-of-state interests using Maine voters to get a sweet deal.”
