In the news this morning, five years after a former Penn State assistant football coach was convicted of child abuse on campus, the University's former President, Graham Spanier, was convicted Friday on a misdemeanor count of child endangerment, facing up to five years in prison. Spanier failed to alert authorities after he learned of the alleged abuse.  Spanier plans to appeal.  The former football coach is serving a 30 to 60-year sentence for the abuse. Penn State paid more than $90 million to settle with dozens of abuse victims.
