In the news this morning, for the first time in French history, no mainstream candidate will be on the ballot for French President when the country votes in two weeks. The run-off will pit pro-European Union candidate Emmanuel Macron against the far-right populist and EU skeptic Marine Le Pen. The preliminary French election came just three days after the deadly attack of a police officer at the iconic Champs Elysees.  Meanwhile here in the US, President Trump's 100th day in office is this week, and former President Obama will make his first public appearance in Chicago today since leaving office.
