In the news this morning, just in time for the busy summer travel season, the the TSA new screening program will affect passengers at 10 major airports including Boston's Logan Airport. The major changes in passenger screening involve electronic devices larger than a cell phone including tablets and e-readers.  Such devices will now be required to be placed in a separate bin.  That is already the case with laptop computers. Why the new screening standard?  According to the TSA, travelers are cramming so much into their carry-on bags that they are unable to screen for electronics with confidence.  The concern, of course, is that the heightened screening could create even longer lines at TSA check points.
